Mission Statement

  • The goal of IISD Child Nutrition Department is to provide quality meals and friendly service to your student. We have planned meals that follow the USDA Dietary Guidelines.

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand. Child Nutrition Department at IISD is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals who are dedicated to our students’ health, well-being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition.

.

Our passion is helping students to be physically and mentally ready to learn by encouraging a healthy lifestyle through nutritious food, physical activity and adequate rest.

Local wellness policies are an important tool for parents and school districts in promoting student wellness, preventing and reducing childhood obesity, and providing assurance that school meal nutrition guidelines meet the minimum federal school meal standards.
